East-West Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is Milwaukee County’s planned 9-mile regional, modern transit service connecting downtown Milwaukee, Milwaukee’s Near West Side, Marquette University, Wauwatosa and the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center.
Although on-site crews may occasionally communicate specific impacts to your property, a general outline of what to expect in the coming weeks is listed below.
Week of May 2:
- Install permanent traffic control at Stations 1, 2, 13, 21
- Install daily traffic control at Stations 16, 20, 28, 32, 33
- Construct restroom, stake survey, pour platform, install pavement & form, pour, and cure curb and gutter at Station 1
- Sawcut, remove concrete pavement, common excavation and subgrade, and install base course at Station 2
- Restore Station 8
- Northbound and Southbound inside lane closure, remove median, and install median stone at Station 13
- Install sidewalk at Station 20
- Install conduit at Stations 21, 33
- Survey platform at Stations 28, 32, 33
- Remove electrical at Station 28
- Install street light conduit and curb ramp at Station 32
- Relocate City Street Lighting and install curb ramp at Station 33
Week of May 9:
- Install permanent traffic control at Stations 1, 2, 13, 21
- Install daily traffic control at Stations 16, 20, 28, 32, 33
- Construct restroom, install pavement, and install sidewalk at Station 1
- Stake survey at Stations 2, 13
- Install platform conduit at Station 2
- Grade Stations 2, 32, 33
- Restore Station 8
- Alternating Northbound and Southbound lane closures, pave median, install temporary pavement markings, common excavation and subgrade Station 13
- Concrete removals at Stations 13, 16
- Survey Station 16
- Install streetlights at Station 20
- Remove electrical at Station 28
- Install platform conduit at Station 32
- Form platform at Stations 32, 33
- Install conduit and snowmelt cable at Station 33
Week of May 16:
- Install permanent traffic control at Stations 1, 2, 13, 21
- Install daily traffic control at Stations 16, 28, 32, 33
- Full lane closure at Station 16
- Construct restroom at Station 1
- Form platform at Stations 2, 32, 33
- Install snowmelt and pour platform at Station 2
- Northbound and Southbound outside lane closure, install platform conduit, and stake survey at Station 13
- Sewer work and install base course at Stations 13, 16
- Common excavation and subgrade Station 16
- Install snowmelt cable and grade Stations 32, 33
